Pros: Good physics, graphics, sound, 9 game modes

Cons: Music

Comments: Backspin is a good all around pool game. It doesn't contain a lot of clutter that I've seen in other PC pool games, and focuses instead on making pool fun to play. Modes like "Golf", "Trickshots" and "Time trial" are really neat twists on the standard game play. There are 9 modes in total: 8-ball, 9-ball, Cutthroat, Euro 8-ball, 3-ball, 14.1 continuous, trickshots, time trial, and golf. And some of the rules of play can be setup for each mode.

Backspin has nice graphics and there is a decent amount of customization you can do (pool table, cue sticks, balls). The sounds effects are good, although the music is only so-so.

The game has great phyics, I'm able to use cue angle and english along with shot power to create some cool curved (masse') shots and bank shots.

The AI is fairly good, although from time to time he can seem either brilliant or silly :). But overall, there is a good range of difficulty from the novice to the shark.

Besides the computer opponent, you can go head to head against someone at the same computer.

Overall, this is a fun game with a good mix of real-world physics and a nice arcade style.
